The challenge

The task was to create a distinctly masculine skincare brand that stood apart through its simplicity and minimalistic design. Groom was envisioned as a response to the clutter and complexity often found in men's skincare markets. The challenge lay in designing a brand that not only appealed to men through its straightforward, approachable aesthetic but also highlighted the purity and effectiveness of natural ingredients. This project was part of the non-commercial Modernbrief challenge, where the objective was to demonstrate how a pared-down, three-step skincare ritual could meet the needs of the modern man without sacrificing the luxurious feel and efficacy expected from premium skincare. Winning this challenge affirmed the potential of Groom to redefine men's skincare by proving that minimalism can be both powerful and appealing.

The solution

We developed Groom as a skincare brand that embodies elegance and simplicity. Our solution was to curate a focused, three-step ritual that efficiently caters to the daily skincare needs of men. This routine — consisting of a cleanser, beard oil and a moisturiser is crafted using only the finest natural ingredients, ensuring each product is both gentle and effective. The packaging reflects the brand’s minimalist ethos, featuring clean, straightforward labeling and eco-friendly materials that appeal to the environmentally conscious consumer.
