It is one they would like to pass on to the next generation, and they are well aware that there is no coffee to sip if there’s no planet to live on. AKI is much more than just a cafe, it is a commitment to a conscious lifestyle and not only taking care of coffee lovers but for the planet all at once. So, think before you drink.

The challenge

In 2023, the owners of AKI decided that their lovely city of Ghent could benefit from another forward-thinking coffee cafe, offering people the opportunity to enjoy quality coffee guilt-free—no plastics, no nonsense. With this vision in mind, the owners approached our team to shape a unique identity. Our task was to design an appealing visual identity with a sophisticated touch. In addition to this brand new identity, AKI asked us to help define a clear message that would emphasise the sustainable aspects of their conscious cafe.

The solution

We crafted a unique brand strategy that would spark interest among the target audience and resonate with the company vision. We wanted to go eco, without looking too eco. To achieve this delicate balance, we employed a creative approach. Our team focused on incorporating subtle eco-friendly colours into the identity, steering clear of clichéd green symbols. The result is a seamless integration of sustainable practices with a truly sophisticated aesthetic. After a month of collaborating and going back and forward, team AKI has successfully opened their cafe and launched their new brand. The culmination of our joint efforts has resulted in an aesthetically pleasing and environmentally conscious space that reflects the values of Aki. The grand opening was met with enthusiasm from the community, and has transformed AKI into a bustling hub.
